Beautiful Romania

Romania is a country of amazing beauty, with nice and hospitable people. With the end of the communist regime in 1989 and the rapprochement with the West, Romania has become a country with diverse options for the foreign tourist.
A trip to rural Romania brings a feeling of going back in time as if a century ago, as if time had stood still. Alongside picturesque villages and towns, there are few cities that started with progressive steps. In the villages, farmers travel on wooden carts pulled by horses or oxen. The grain is still harvested with a sickle, except in a few places with a combine.

Romanian cuisine combines several cultural influences, and it is evident in the fusion of the various cultures that have influenced the history of Romania. Romanian cuisine is mainly influenced by Balkan cuisine and Turkish cuisine, but there are also more distant influences, for example from German cuisine and Hungarian cuisine.

Geography
Romania is located in Europe and borders Bulgaria and Serbia to the south, Hungary to the west, and Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova (which was part of Romania until 1940) to the north. Romania has an area of 237,500 km2 and a border length of 3,200 km. It is divided into 41 counties.
Topographically, there are large differences in altitude between the mountainous areas in the north of the country, where the Carpathian Mountains are located, which surround the Transylvanian Plateau, and the plains that characterize the south. These mountain ranges extend for 900 km in a crescent shape and reach heights of up to 2,500 meters in some places. To the south and east of these mountain ranges lie hilly areas and adjacent to them is the broad Danube plain. About a third of the country is plains and two-thirds are hilly or mountainous areas. Three-quarters of Romania’s territory is covered in forests .

Water
Romania is rich in many water sources and in fact there are several large rivers that cross it and connect to the Danube on its way to the Black Sea
