F.A.Q
Is the tour suitable for family vacations?
The Sinaia and Slanic Salt Mines Tour is suitable for family vacations with a variety of activities. This is a special itinerary designed to engage multiple generations, prioritizing pace, safety, and interactive elements over rigid schedules. It focuses on entertaining children while ensuring that adults really get to see the sights.
Where does the tour start and end?
The tour may start or end at your hotel or Henri Coandă Airport, at your choice.
Is a bear a nice friendly animal that eats honey, like Winnie the Pooh?
Yes, as long as you don't open the car window. Don't try to feed or pet the bear or, even worse, the cubs. People have been killed. Don't forget that we're talking about a predator that weighs 300-400 kilos. The bear mother protecting her cubs is the most dangerous animal in the world. Period. She attacks even males that are much bigger than her without a second thought.
How can we feel safe in the presence of a bear?
Only when you're with someone who runs slower than you.
How much is the fine if you get caught feeding the bears?
2000 euros more or less. They have video surveillance, and you will get caught.
Putem fi siguri că vom vedea urși?
Bears have their own agenda. In general, there is a good chance of seeing a few bears, there are about 13 families in the area. But you can't be 100 percent sure that on that day and at that time they will be near the road.

Continuing the journey, you will make your way towards the Transfagarasan Highway – one of the most scenic routes in the country. As you climb higher into the Carpathian Mountains, keep your camera ready. Along the way, we will see the Poenari Castle, the “real” Dracula’s castle as featured in Bram Stoker’s famous novel “Dracula.” To reach the castle, visitors must climb 1,480 steps. It is common to see wild bears on the side of the road, especially where the forest meets the asphalt. Watching these magnificent animals from the safety of your car is an exciting and unforgettable experience, offering a rare glimpse of wildlife in their natural habitat.
